Holy City, the first South Carolina brewery to capitalize on the so-called Stone Law by opening a kitchen last year, is getting ready to expand that operation in February by adding a Charleston-area chef to the staff and expanding its kitchen space and menu options for visitors.
Since being signed earlier this year, the “Stone Law” has begun to show its worth among South Carolina’s craft breweries, with one of the state’s newest breweries as well as one of its oldest both recently benefitting from the law’s expanded privileges.
While it’s been law for a couple of months now, a ceremonial signing of the “Stone Bill” will be held at one of Columbia’s breweries this week.
Despite changes to state law and a passionate push from supporters, South Carolina has been cut from the list of possible locations Stone will construct its East Coast brewing operation, sources have confirmed.
