Columbia’s Conquest officially enters the barrel-aged beer game on Saturday, August 23 with the release of a version of its barleywine that’s been aging in Four Roses bourbon barrels since March.

Sierra Nevada is about to set out on the inaugural Beer Camp Across America festival, an ambitious traveling beer extravaganza that invites every craft brewery in the country to participate. The festival will eventually make its way to Sierra Nevada’s new facility in Mills River, NC, and nine South Carolina breweries will be making an appearance at that stop.

Conquest taps 25 different kegs at Green’s Friday
The term “tap takeover” is used a little too liberally these days. Usually when a bar or store hosts one, it’s a handful of a brewery’s year-round releases and one or two special beers, and not something such as Stone’s Most Arrogant Bar party.
But Friday, Columbia’s Piney Grove Green’s location is hosting a true tap takeover from Conquest of 25 beers, including a slew of new one-off releases.
New fermenters will almost double Conquest’s output
Conquest teased some “big” news early last week, setting off speculation as to what exactly the brewery had in store. A new release? New packaging? The long-awaited arrival of the second heir to the Conquest throne?
While it didn’t arrive on schedule, the brewery still announced the “big” news before the week was out: It would soon become home to a shiny new 30 BBL fermenter, nearly doubling the brewery’s fermentation capacity.
