North Charleston’s Freehouse Brewery is planning to begin bottling some its beers later this year and has just received federal approval for one of its upcoming labels.
Quest releasing bottles of BA Kaldi March 15
Be still my heart.
On Saturday, March 15, Quest will release its first bottled offering: A bourbon barrel-aged version of its year-round Kaldi Imperial Coffee Stout. The release will come in the form of 750 ml. bottles with a total of 450 bottles being released (limited to two per person) for $20 a pop. You can see the bottle artwork here. Quest’s Don Richardson and Andrew Watts – the rockstars that they are – will even autograph your bottle for you.
The release goes down at noon on the 15th.
COAST rebottles Old Nuptial barleywine
In May 2011, COAST released Old Nuptial, a barleywine brewed to commemorate the wedding of the Charleston Beer Exchange‘s Scott Shor (who along with fellow CBX co-owner Rich Carley helped brewed the beer back in 2009). It was an 11% beer half aged in bourbon barrels for 18 months.
Since its release, the beer has grown to become a much-desired brew in SC beer circles and beyond. And this past weekend, COAST decided it was time to release more Old Nup upon the world.
Community Tap/Thomas Creek collaboration arrives in bottles

Formerly a draft-only release, Trifecta IPA, collaboration from The Community Tap and Thomas Creek, arrives in bottles for the first time today.
Thomas Creek has previously brewed the 6.9% IPA as a TCT draft exclusive, but now it’ll be available throughout the Greenville area with the chance of it popping up in other SC markets. TCT will be having a day-long “party” celebrating the release.
