Huntsville, AL’s Straight to Ale brewery recently announced expansion of distribution in two more southern states, with availability in South Carolina beginning this week.
Founded in 2009, Straight to Ale has grown to be one of the largest breweries in the state of Alabama, having just opened a new 45,000-square-foot brewhouse this past July. The brewery ranked as RateBeer’s best brewery in the state in 2013. Many of their products feature space-inspired names – the U.S. Space & Rocket Center is located in Huntsville – including Laika, a Russian imperial stout named after the Soviet dog that was one of the first animals in space, and popular year-round 7.25% IPA, Monkeynaut.
Distribution in South Carolina began this week with four primary offerings in cans: Brother Joseph’s, an 8% Belgian-style dubbel; He Ain’t Hefe, a 5% hefeweizen; 6 Alberts, a 4.2% session IPA; and Monkeynaut. Seasonal and limited offerings will also be available on draft.
Whole Foods Markets in the Southeast (including SC) will also exclusively carry the grocery chain’s new collaboration with the brewery, the Rumble Seat Beer Project. You can expect to find Rumble Seat Citrus Witte and Rumble Seat India Pale Ale in your local Whole Foods during Labor Day weekend.
