A unique new brewpub is coming to the Greenville area in 2015, one which will not only showcase local and in-house craft beers, but allow homebrewers to brew and bottle their own recipes on the establishment’s system.
The Upstate Craft Beer Co. plans to open next year in the former home of Clausen’s Bakery in Greenville. The 3,000-square-foot brewpub will feature a 20-tap system – half of those will be dedicated to beers made on site on the brewpub’s two 1/2 BBL brewing setups – as well as a homebrew supply shop in addition to a tapas-centric eatery.
One unique facet of the business will be a deal that allows homebrewers to cook up batches on site. For $150, you can brew beer on the company’s equipment and then bottle it later to take home with you. “It’s a concept that I’ve seen across the country, especially on the West Coast,” brewery owner Jack McDonald told The Greenville News.
