Next up in bottles from Anderson’s Carolina Bauernhaus: Feral Barrel Blackberry.
Coming in at 5.7% ABV, the beer is a dark wild ale fermented with native and SouthYeast Labs yeast in a mixture of cabernet and bourbon barrels for six months, then aged on local blackberries for another month and a half.
The beer will be released in 750 ml. bottles at the brewery this Friday, Sept. 16 beginning at 4 PM for $20 each and with a limit of 10 bottles per person. More details on the release here.
Carolina Bauernhaus has previously released a raspberry and cherry dark sour under the Feral Barrel name, as well as June Princess (nectarine and apricot farmhouse ale), blackberry and raspberry petite sours, and 18 Mile Red Grand Cru, a Tempranillo barrel-aged sour red ale.
