With the third annual Greenville Craft Beer Week just around the corner, Greenville’s own Quest Brewing Co. and Community Tap beer and wine store will be releasing the brewery’s first-ever bottled sour on April 21.
Elegast is a Robin Hood-esque character who is the subject of a Medieval Dutch epic poem. But in this context, it’s an 8.3% red wine barrel-aged Flanders Red fermented with Lactobacillus in barrels from Benton City, WA’s Hedges Family Estate. The beer’s been aging for 18 months in the barrel.
Bottles will go on sale Thursday, April 21 at the brewery at $20 a pop and limited to six per person. Bands and food trucks will also be on hand for the event.
