Since its early days, Birds Fly South Ale Project has been contract brewing its Belgian- and farmhouse-inspired beers in Greenville. But last week, a new home for the fledgling brewery was announced, with an expected opening later this year.
About a week ago, the Upstate Business Journal broke the news that BFS owner and brewer Shawn Johnson had found a new 9,000-square-foot home at 1320 Hampton Avenue Extension in Greenville. The new facility is expected to open fall 2016 and house a stage for live music as well as indoor and outdoor seating. Renovations on the second floor will allow visitors to look down upon the brewery and barrel room.
Johnson is currently contract brewing at Thomas Creek and has already begun expanding distribution throughout the state.
