Greenville’s Brewery 85 is getting ready to release a new sessionable IPA just in time for the South Carolina summer heat to kick in.
Line Drive, a new 5% American-style IPA, “was brewed with a long and hot summer afternoon at a baseball stadium in mind,” according to the brewery’s latest newsletter. The new release is brewed with malt from Asheville’s Riverbend Malt House, water from the Greenville Water System – one of the best in the country – as well as Simcoe and Amarillo hops in both the boil and the dry-hopping portion, then fermented with American ale yeast from SouthYeast Labs.
The beer is slated to hit Brewery 85’s taproom and distribution territory beginning in July.
