Sierra Nevada‘s new Mills River, NC facility recently came online, and with it’s production a new beer exclusive to the Southeast.
While construction on the brewery is expected to last for the rest of this year, the facility is built enough to begin production. One of their first new releases is Rain Check, a 9% spiced stout brewed with lime and ginger. The beer was brewed at the Chico, CA’s satellite operation on the East Coast and gets its name from the numerous rain delays that pushed back the end of the brewery’s construction until this year. And as sort of a thank you to the brewery’s new (second) home region, it’ll be released in only South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee in addition to its North Carolina home.
Look for Rain Check on shelves later this June.
