One of the East Coast’s – and arguably the country’s – best imperial IPAs returns to the Palmetto State starting today.
COAST announced Thursday morning that it had begun bottling the latest batch of its Boy King DIPA, scheduling bottle sales to begin at the brewery Thursday afternoon. It’s the first batch of the beer released since August 2013.
Boy King – a seasonal 9.3% imperial IPA brewed with Citra, Chinook, Nugget, Cascade, Centennial and Columbus hops – currently sits at No. 49 on BeerAdvocate’s rankings of the best Double/Imperial IPAs in the world. Its ranking has fallen slightly since reaching No. 40 earlier this year, but the beer still retains a “world-class” ranking among BA reviewers.
Expect to see it available on draft and in bottles around Charleston soon and in limited amounts in other markets in the coming weeks.
