The 2014 version of Holy City Slam, the annual release brewed for the Family Circle Cup on Daniel’s Island, will be debuting at the brewery later this week.
For the past few years, Holy City has brewed a different take on Slam in advance of the annual tennis tournament. The beer is brewed specifically for the tournament (and will be available on draft at the event) with a small amount making it to outside accounts.
The 2012 version was an American pale ale, followed by a hoppier version brewed with wheat in 2013. This year, Holy City will take its Old Man Helles and added lime, creating a light, citrusy lager for the tournament. You’ll find it at the brewery this Thursday – details on the launch event here – and the tournament March 29 – April 6.
