Another new Southeastern brewery has sneaked into the South Carolina market recently. This time, it’s Red Hare Brewing Co. out of Marietta, GA.
The Metro Atlanta brewery mentioned on Twitter that they planned to distribute in Charleston soon, and they weren’t kidding. Cans of the brewery’s Gangway IPA and Watership Brown Ale arrived at the Charleston Beer Exchange on Wednesday.
The 4-year-old, 11,000-square-foot brewery houses a 20-barrel brewhouse that can put out 220 barrels a year. In addition to Gangway and Watership, the brewery also regularly produces their flagship Long Day Lager and a series of one-off limited release beers under the Rabbit’s Reserve Series.
South Carolina is the only state other than Georgia the brewery has distribution in. No word on when or if they plan to expand into other markets, but they told me they’ll be bringing their “whole lineup” to the state, so expect to see cans of Long Day and Rabbit’s Reserve releases sooner or later.
