Thomas Creek introduces new tap handles

TCtaphandle

A quick bit of aesthetic news from South Carolina’s largest brewery: Brand new tap handles from Thomas Creek will soon arrive at your local watering hole.

The new tap handles still prominently feature the Greenville brewery’s logo up top, but everything from the neck down has been given an upgrade. Gone are the old handles, which featured a plastic waterfall and a small logo for the respective beer. In its place is a much larger image depicting the bottle art for the beer, which is covered with a piece of plastic that can be removed so other labels can be put in place.

So, next time you grab a seat at the bar and want a TC brew, keep an eye out for these.

Thomas Creek represents SC in DRAFT Beer Bracket 2013

It’s March, which means it’s time to sit down and carefully pick your bracket for the coming tournament.

Of course, I’m not talking about college basketball. I’m talking about craft beer, specifically DRAFT Magazine‘s annual Beer Bracket challenge. The yearly competition pits one great beer against another to determine craft beer supremacy. Voters have the chance to win a kegerator for themselves, and the ultimate winner scores $1,000 for a charity of their choice, so it’s a win-win.

Greenville’s Thomas Creek is the only brewery representing South Carolina this year. Their excellent Castaway Chocolate Orange IPA has made it into the first round, but it won’t be an easy battle: They’re pitted against Wookey Jack from Firestone Walker.

The brewery has picked the Greenville Humane Society as their charity.
