The Brewers Association’s annual Craft Brewers Conference wrapped up in Philadelphia this past weekend with the World Beer Cup, and Columbia’s River Rat and Greenville’s Quest left with bronze and gold medals, respectively, in two different style categories.
This year, the competition judged nearly 6,600 beers from more than 1,900 breweries across 55 countries were judged across 96 different style categories.
In the Field Beer category, Quest’s Ponce, a rye saison brewed with cucumber and jalapeño, bested the 57 entries to take home the gold medal. The beer will have its seasonal release at the brewery this coming weekend.
For the Bohemian-Style Pilsner style, which had 65 entries, River Rat took home bronze for its Pilsner. The beer is a year-round staple for the brewery.
Congratulations to both on the new hardware!
