Columbia’s Conquest Brewing Co. will celebrate its third anniversary this Saturday, Jan. 30, with the release of its annual monster imperial stout, The Finisher.
The 17.5% beer – brewed with brown sugar and honey, then fermented with champagne yeast – is released once a year to celebrate the brewery’s birthday. This year, in addition to the standard Finisher ($20 per bottle), two barrel-aged variants will be available: Redemption Rye and Redemption High-Rye Bourbon ($25 per bottle).
Tickets will be handed out beginning at 8 AM Saturday on a first-come, first-served basis, although diehard fans of the beer are known to arrive as early as 6 AM and tickets for guaranteed bottles are gone within an hour.
The first 50 ticket holders will have the right to purchase up to four bottles of regular Finisher and two bottles each of the barrel-aged variants. Tickets 51-80 are good for two bottles of regular and one bottle each of the barrel-aged. Ticket holders after that can purchase one bottle of each until they’re sold out.
A bottle share will held beginning at 8 AM with proceeds going to a local charity. Food trucks and bands will be setting up at the brewery throughout the day.
