At Brewvival 2014, Holy City Brewing and RJ Rockers released the collaborative Half Calf, a sweet stout brewed with local coffee. That collaboration, which has popped up on taps only sporadically since then, will be seeing a wider release in canned form.
The canned collaboration between the Upstate and Lowcountry breweries comes in at around 7.3% and, while brewed and canned in Charleston, was brewed this time with coffee from Spartanburg’s Little River Roasting Company. (The original batch was made with Coastal Coffee Roasters beans out of Summerville.) The canning will be a limited run.
The two breweries have previously collaborated on the RJR-breweed Stuck on Rye 26 Red Ale and Holy Citra, RJ!, which debuted during the 2013 Charleston Beer Week.
