Swamp Cabbage, Columbia’s third production, is just about ready to open its doors to the public. But before that, the brewery will be holding a series of launch events in the Columbia are during the last week of July.

While an opening date for the brewery itself has not yet been announced – they’re eyeing the second week of August – Swamp Cabbage has scheduled events throughout the city to give people an early taste. The earliest will be Saturday, July 19, when Swamp Cabbage will make its debut at the Palmetto Tasty Tomato Festival in Columbia with the release of their ESB. On Saturday, Aug. 1, they’ll be pouring at Brew at the Zoo at Riverbanks Zoo & Garden.

Aside from those, public launch events will be held at the following:

• Tuesday, July 29 – Craft and Draft, 5-7 PM
• Wednesday, July 30 – Morganelli’s, 4-6 PM
• Saturday, Aug. 2 – Total Wine & More on Harbison, noon – 3 PM

Launch beers include the ESB along a chocolate brown ale and a blonde ale. Core brands reportedly include an amber, brown, red and stout.
