Symposiums scheduled for Brewvival

Brewvival is switching things up this year when it comes to speakers and presentations. In lieu of hosting a featured keynote speaker – which have included the likes of Stone’s Greg Koch, Sierra Nevada’s Ken Grossman and Dogfish Head’s Sam Calagione in previous years – three symposiums will be held on a variety of topics throughout the festival. Per the Brewvival Facebook page, here’s the lineup:

New Belgium/Riverbend – Floor Malting & Recipe Creation at 1:30 PM

Join New Belgium’s Matt Gilliland and Brian & Brent of Riverbend Malt House as they teach you about the concept of floor malting, highlighting local craft malt house Riverbend, and unveil the process of creating their new RyePA collaboration. Beer and custom rye bread by EVO will be sampled.

Bioregional Eukaryotica – Taming the Flavors of the Southeast at 3:30 PM

Join SouthYeast Labs as you learn about how they capture native, South Carolina yeast. “Giving terroir a new meaning in brewing!” Beers created by local brewers in conjunction with SouthYeast will be sampled.

All of the symposiums are $1.50 in addition to your Brewvival ticket. You can purchase tickets at the links above.

Note: A third symposium is planned but has not yet been announced.
