Quest hops on IPA Day bandwagon, taps special brews

This Thursday, Aug. 1, marks the third annual IPA Day, a day set aside to honor and celebrate the most popular style in American craft beer. While I have my own personal feelings on so called “hashtag holidays,” that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate the occasion if you so choose.

If you do recognize the “holiday,” Quest Brewing Co. in Greenville has quite the celebration planned for you. To celebrate IPA Day, the new Upstate brewery will be throwing a party with live music, food trucks and special brews.

If you went to the brewery’s grand opening recently, you may have tried their Buffalo Trace barrel-aged of their West Coast-style Ellida IPA. That one-off brew will be brought out again for the occasion, and Ellida will also be randalized through a special blend of hops. Quest will also have a dry-hopped version of their Golden Fleece BPA.

As for non-beer entertainment, The Marcus King Band will be playing from 7-9 p.m., and the Neue Southern Food Truck will be up and running from 6-8 p.m.
