Westbrook Brewing Co. is getting a little more love and respect on the international stage.
After playing host to and producing beers from gypsy brewer Evil Twin, the nearly 2-year-old Mt. Pleasant-based brewery will be one of 30 featured beer makers from around the world selected to appear at the second-annual Copenhagen Beer Celebration in Copenhagen, Denmark next year.
According to the event’s website, brewers from around the world will bring nine of their best offerings for the three-day festival, with three different beers being featured on each day of the event. Joining Westbrook is representing the good ol’ U.S.A. will be Anchorage, Founders, Three Floyds, Surly and more.
Westbrook was chosen because their “mission is no other than ‘make the most interesting, drinkable, and generally awesome beer possible,'” including “old-fashioned ales, paying tribute to the old school of brewing from Belgium, as well as new and interesting hybrids,” according to a recent update.
