Now that the brewing duo at Columbia’s Conquest are working at the brewery full time, the extra free time between brewing batches and kegging beers has been spent brewing a couple one-off pilot batches the brewery plans to release under its random, experimental Cyclops line. That series sees its debut in the Conquest tasting room this week.
On Wednesday, July 17, the brewery will tap one sixtel of a super-hoppy session black IPA. The beer clocks in at just 4% but will likely be a hop bomb. (Brewer Matt Ellisor has been documented as remarking it’s “too hoppy,” but he’s just weak.)
The beer will be available for tastings and pints, but no growler fills. And when it’s gone, it’s gone. Fortunately, a 10% imperial stout will be released in the series very soon.
The Conquest tasting room is open from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday.
